Teaching Internship
Physical Chemistry 1 – Internship
About this course
This course is offered to students in the Chemistry Program and Chemistry Teachers Program.
Details
There are 15 experiments in the lab and 3 seminars. Each internship block has its own preliminary meeting, which is announced on Moodle or via email. Internship placements are finally allocated at this meeting. The schedules for blocks 2 and 3 will be posted/announced later in the semester, sometimes due to additional admission requirements.
Attendance at the preliminary meetings is mandatory!
Covered topics: Thermodynamics, Reaction Kinetics, Electrochemistry, Quantum Chemistry, and Spectroscopy, Light Conversion.
Admission requirements for the PC1 practical course: 3 of the 4 lectures from Physical Chemistry I and IIa, and Mathematics for Chemists I and II must be passed. Students who fail a minimum of 3 lectures will only be admitted to the 3rd-course block if they pass the remaining repeat exams at the beginning of the summer semester.
Offered experiments: Clausius-Clapeyron-Gleichung, Differential-Thermoanalyse, Elektrochemische Zellen, Coulometrische Titration, Electrolytleitfähigkeit, Stirling Motor, Lösungskalorimeter, Bombenkalorimeter, Rohrzuckerinversion, Essigesterverseifung, Reaktionskinetik, Enzymkinetik Katalyse, Electron Spin resonance, Faradaykonstante, Wasserstoffspektrum, Elektronenbeugung/Photoeffekt, Zeeman-Effekt, Ammoniakinversion, Stern-Gerlach Experiment.
