Our Journey

July 2024: Relocation to LMU Munich

SPECTRE team relocated from KAUST, Saudi Arabia, to LMU Munich, Germany to advance our research in solar energy conversion and contribute to Germany’s transition toward sustainable, green energy.

September 2025: Joining the e-conversion 2.0 excellence cluster

SPECTRE has joined e-conversion 2.0 excellence cluster as a part of Coupled (Quasi)Particles & Excitations research area.

January 2026: Ultrafast labs up and running

Ultrafast spectroscopy labs with femtosecond Transient Absorption, Time Resolved Photoluminescence, and more are finally open and running! Additionally, our Organic Device Fabrication lab has produced its first OPV devices.

April 2026: A growing team

SPECTRE team is growing and has 3 PhD students, in addition to 2 independent group leaders and their teams.
